It may be a while until I leave my house again.

I’ve shown symptoms for Covid since early this morning. Thankfully a PCR test appointment was available at 4.30 this afternoon.

I can confirm that I definitely have a gag reflex. Swiping the swab around my tonsils had me hacking and yacking like a dog with a mouthful of mustard.

Hopefully I’ll have results tomorrow. I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

As I was feeling a little bit glum, I phoned a friend. Our conversations usually turn to food at some point.

I remembered that I bought some Stollen… Ok, I bought a LOT of stollen for Christmas and it was resting in my festive food cupboard. Yes, I have to hide nice things away because if I see them, I eat them.

Anyway… On mentioning the Stollen my friend said “Yes, with custard”.

I jumped up like a kid on Christmas morning and was very happy to find custard in the cupboard too.

I’m going to get fat this evening and I don’t care.
