A Little Bit Of England

Today’s photo was taken from the top of the Clent Hills.

Autumn – or fall for our North American readers – is one of my favourite times of the year. I’m happy that I am fortunate to have the English landscape as my playground.

As the seasons change, I watch as the plants and trees prepare for Winter. The rich green of summer slowly fades and the leaves turn to beautiful shades of orange and red before they fall to the ground.

The mighty Oaks, Beeches and Sycamores cast off their foliage and cover the ground with this summer’s leaves.

It is a time to look back on a bountiful harvest, to let seeds and nuts find a sheltered spot for the winter, and for the animals to have another feast before the austerity of winter.

To be happy, I have to be content and at peace with change. Summer doesn’t last forever and it is time to prepare for rest and recovery from the energetic growth of the year.

Success! You're on the list.
